Martin Broome, Ph.D. is the Portfolio and Alliance Manager at the CHLA Center for Innovation, bringing more than four years of experience in technology licensing, intellectual property management, industry partnerships and start-up formation. Martin specializes in the assessment of therapeutic preclinical research for translational and commercial potential. Prior to joining CHLA, he worked for over 15 years in Industry, most recently as a Principal Scientist at Amgen in Oncology Research discovering novel cancer targets, leading preclinical drug discovery projects, evaluating licensing opportunities and managing research alliances. He received his Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from UCSD after completing his graduate studies at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. Martin’s professional organization memberships include AUTM, AACR, Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Xi.
